WARP Auctions

In 2002, WARP began an online textile auction as a fundraiser. Most of the donations offered for sale were exquisite examples of textile techniques from around the world. Past offerings have featured textiles from Burkina Faso, Armenia, Mexico, India, Viet Nam, Guatemala, Turkey, Tanzania, Indonesia, Bhutan, Romania, Finland and Norway. Some are fine textiles created by WARP members.

Given the current proliferation of on-line auction sites, (particularly ebay), and the amount of oversight that our former process required, WARP has now become a registered non-profit with Mission Fish, ebay’s non-profit fundraising arm which allows members and others to conduct auctions directly on-line on behalf of our organization.

Please announce on our listserv, should you be auctioning an item. If you'd like to participate in an auction, please keep an eye out for WARP items being auctioned in our name. High bids are posted on the website daily so you can monitor the bidding. At the end of the auction for each item, the high bidders are notified and the item is sent to them after their check or money order is received.

Many thanks to all auction sellers and buyers on our behalf.

In the meanwhile, if you are coming to the Annual Meeting, please remember to bring your gently used ethnic textiles and clothing to donate to our meeting auction.

We hope to see you there.
